The Accu-Lube Advantage applicator utilizes a venturi to create a low pressure at the nozzle tip to draw the lubricant into the air supply stream. This is done by first setting the air flow and then controlling the oil restriction by opening and closing the oil adjustment valve allowing Accu-Lube lubricant LB2000 or LB3000 to be drawn by the venturi.
It is important not to allow the pressure inside the air line to build to a level where it backs up into the applicator and eventually up the reservoir. To ensure this we drill out the standard Loc-line nozzle tip with a 3/16” drill bit and align the star pattern of the positioning star with the star pattern of the director tip.
This allows for maximum air flow and the least amount of resistance of the air stream. If the star patterns are not aligned and partially block the nozzle then pressure will build in the line and in some cases bubble up through the reservoir.
The air stream is only supposed to be used to deliver lubricant to the cutting tool. It is not effective to move chips created in the machining process. If chip removal is required use an air only hose to blow chips away.
